ASICS has partnered once again with Bangkok-based streetwear giant Carnival, this time to release a new iteration of the GT-2160, called the "Concrete Bloom."
While previous collaborations between the brands drew inspiration from Muay Thai culture, this latest silhouette focuses on the complexities and challenges of urban life, reflecting themes present throughout the city of Bangkok. The design combines different shades of gray with metallic green details and subtle hints of orange. The shoe features a mix of materials, including organic and synthetic elements such as suede, leather, and mesh.
Carnival's goal is that the shoe is meant to represent the resilience of individuals who flourish in harsh conditions — "much like the beauty of flowers that push through concrete to bloom." Other standout design features include "Carnival" co-branding on the lateral heel, an off-white midsole, and silver metallic accents throughout.
